The “What” and the “Where” in searching for businesses on the internet….
We have all gone to any one of the major search engines and typed in a particular product or service that we are looking for, right?
But what if we took our query one step further by not only looking for the What but also the Where?
Where
Will Your Business End Up?

Local Search Marketing:
Local Search allows surfers of the internet to find geo-specific businesses.
Local Search queries include not only information about “What” the surfers searching – Short Tail Keywords, specific brand-name products – but also the “Where” information.
The “Where” information includes: City Name, Street Address, or Zip Code.
A few examples of Local Searches:
- Seattle Hotels
- Chicago Restaurants
- Dallas Beauty Salons
Local Searches are
categorized two ways: Explicit Local Intent or
Implicit Local Intent. A search that
includes a location modifier - "Dallas, TX” or
"75248" – is an explicit local search. A search
that references a local service - "restaurant" or
"nail salon" - is an implicit local
search.
